One of the most remarkable spirit healers was the American Edgar Cayce, known by the name of “The sleeping Prophet from Virginia Beach”, he provided medical diagnoses in a state of trance called “readings” for 43 years and he also prescribed the appropriate remedies. Edgar Cayce died in 1944 and he left over 14’000 “readings”, 30’000 stenographic transcripts of these diagnoses and hundreds of complete medical histories and written sworn explanations of patients and reports by treating physicians. The Association for Research and Enlightenment Inc., a non-profit society in Virginia, still works with the practical application and utilisation of Edgar Cayce’s spiritual readings.
