87 Astronomers of world renown Dr. Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of planet Pluto and intermittent advisor to the US government in regards to space exploration, on the evening of the 10 th of August 1949, from the terrace of his house in Las Cruces/New Mexico, observed a formation of lights that flew silently across the sky. His wife believed to have seen the faint shape of a dark, cigar-shaped object , with dots of light she assumed were lit-up windows. Tombaugh wrote in a letter on the 10 th of September 1957: “I have never seen anything similar either before or after.”
