12 The Psychic Peace Circle continues to report its experiences November 1967 When dealing with research into spiritual phenomena one finds that there is actually a great difference between private research and scientific laboratory tests: Spiritual phenomena cannot be forcibly produced. They cannot be similarly anticipated like the result of a chemical reaction in a retort. The LAWS of the spirit we know very little about, show their effect . It therefore happens most of the time that a spiritual phenomenon making an appearance in one’s own home , cannot be repeated in a laboratory. University science only accepts the things that can be verified over again in so-called laboratory tests. But as one already ascertained that spiritual phenomena only appear under specific conditions, one tries a kind of synthesis by trying to copy the conditions where they took place. A copy is however never the same as an original, it doesn’t have an original signature. These discrepancies are therefore enough to change the phenomenon or to make it completely impossible to reproduce. Academic experts react acidly to this so-called unwillingness shown by the spirits. They cannot accept without derision that there are supposed to be phenomena that only appear in the home of the medium, in the medium’s family or circle, whilst they utterly fail under the eyes of science. This state of affairs is responsible for the scepticism of the scientists who split hairs about these phenomena, trying to find suitable evidence to declare spiritualism a terrestrial miracle once and for all. One is disinclined to use terms like “metaphysics”, “mystical”, “occultism” well actually everything on a spiritual LEVEL. One can gather from this that private initiatives are superior here. The following has to be said about synthesising the conditions: When a circle lights seven candles at the start of a meeting, when a very specific appellation is made and a hymn is played, one will find that a mimicry of that situation in a laboratory that might be in a different town altogether, will not be successful, because the inner attitude of the parties involved is not genuine. • When the scrutinising scientist for instance holds the opinion that he unfortunately has to participate and put up with such a charade, one cannot compare this with the inner attitude of a circle within a private arena. To put it more clearly: CHRIST said: “Knock on any door and they will be opened.” But those that knock must be genuine seekers and not sceptical testers of the spirit that are not beyond blaspheming against GOD and his spiritual realm. We collected a lot of experiences over the years and we conducted over 1,000 séances in our home with mediums from our own family. Any attempt to deceive is completely ruled out . This is how we managed to achieve the best results. But when one of our mediums was asked to operate in an unfamiliar town under different conditions, certain INTERFERENCES became apparent, the way one can expect to fall prey to nasty hoaxing spirits at any time. • Every spiritual communication is akin to a “long distance call” where one cannot ascertain who is on the other end. Only the long term connection with the same spirits allows some control, because one gets to accurately know their peculiarities, individuality, temperament and their specific reactions. One can gather from these signs and characteristics that the contact is correctly established.
