In the service of science - Part 3

54 Ignorance and brutishness manages to bring books on the market that already assert in their preface that human beings are GOD and that the idea of life after death was just one of their arrogant illusions. (See under new publications of the Orion-Heimreiter-Buchdienst: “Ein Autor im Dienst der negativen Mächte”. ‘An author in the service of negative powers’) The Psychic Peace Circle continues to report its experiences February 1971 We discussed spiritualism with scientists. Doing this we ascertained that there is absolutely no basic knowledge there in this respect. All their questions betrayed an incomprehensible dilettantism, one that was adopted from way in the past. We tried to provide them with absolutely credible evidence, but all they said was: “All very interesting, but one can also interpret this differently .” Everything can naturally be interpreted differently. It all depends on one’s intentions , rather whether one is prepared to accept something or not. If the intention is there to begin with to not admit GOD’S existence, there is no evidence in the whole wide world in this respect that would find acceptance. All human beings are therefore forced to orientate themselves . This orientation however requires quite some knowledge about spiritualism . There is presently no textbook that would be suitable to list here as a standard. We at least managed to get things to a point these days where parapsychological institutes are established in various countries. The question is whether these institutes might already have managed to establish that a spiritual realm exists and that the human soul survives its physical disembodiment? But nothing has been forthcoming so far. There are indeed a few standard works that are excellent, but they can still not be regarded as text material. It is therefore quite obvious that one will not accept a truth, because it offends certain norms that the sciences acquired. If spiritualism was scientifically accepted, it would have to be taught at universities. This would however be so reforming that one shows the greatest possible antipathy towards such reforms. The truth would guide the whole world in a different direction. Something that could cause so much damage must never eventuate; because if the sciences would have to change all their thought processes, ergo admit that they have been wrong for millennia, they would suffer a loss of prestige that would be difficult to imagine. The situation is as follows: Eminent mediums are perfectly capable of furnishing evidence of life after death under all possible and available controls. But this claim would not suffice to make the sciences publicly admit this fact. This would be a heresy in regards to the basic concepts of empirical science. One therefore looks for an interpretation of these phenomena that circumvents the facts. One in inclined to say: “We admit that such phenomena exist, but they could be produced by living human beings, that is to say, human beings that are no longer alive have nothing to do with it. The medium might not commit a direct fraud, but it acts automatically on a subconscious level.” Every experienced spiritualist knows that this interpretation is a weak excuse . The public is unfortunately not in a position to test such excuses. It is basically the same as when a doctor tells his patient: “You are no longer alive. You only imagine that you are. In the eyes of science, you are already dead.”
